Lineman Jonah Melton chooses close-to-home option with Tar Heels

A few hours before his UNC football team took on Wake Forest this past weekend, Tar Heels coach Larry Fedora and two of his assistant coaches met with Eastern Alamance junior offensive tackle Jonah Melton. Melton gave a verbal commitment to Fedora and Tar Heels assistant coaches Keith Heckendorf and Chris Kapilovic on Saturday. It ended a recruiting process that included offers from “13 or 14” schools, Melton said.
