Fennebresque steps down from UNC Board of Governors


John Fennebresque, the polarizing chairman of the UNC Board of Governors, resigned his seat on the system governing board on Monday. The resignation is effective immediately. Fennebresque, 68, a Charlotte attorney who is vice chairman of the McGuireWoods law firm, stepped down following a turbulent period during the search for a new UNC system president.
