Blunders prove costly for Pitt in loss to North Carolina

The mistakes arrived in waves that helped to bury Pitt during what could have been its finest hour. With first place in the ACC Coastal Division at stake, Pitt (6-2, 4-1) fumbled its opportunity to gain real relevance and fell to North Carolina, 26-19, at Heinz Field. UNC (7-1, 4-0) assumed Pitt's previous spot atop the division and awaits another showdown next week against Duke (6-1, 3-0). (Pittsburgh Tribune-Review)
