Young UNC defensive staff plays key role in turnaround

When it came time for Gene Chizik to choose his North Carolina defensive staff, he could have gone the standard route and hired coaches he already knew. Chizik opted to go a different way, ultimately deciding on assistants best suited to help him transform one of the worst defenses in the country. “Didn’t know any of them. Never met one,” he said.
