The Tar Heels’ defense took center stage in Saturday’s Coastal Division clinching win at Virginia Tech. LB Shakeel Rashad had 15 tackles, DT Nazair Jones caused a pivotal fumble and CBs Des Lawrence and M.J. Stewart each intercepted passes for a unit that carried its team all day and forced a three-and-out in overtime to set up the victory.
