Andy Griffith, five years after graduating from UNC, performed 'What It Was, Was Football' on September 25, 1954, prior to the Carolina-N.C. State game in Kenan Stadium. This photo captured the moment, as did this one. The photographer was Hugh Morton, who also helped set up the event. The Tar Heels went on to defeat the Wolfpack 20-6.
