UNC experience molded Phil Ford’s life

Plenty of college coaches had visited Phil Ford’s home in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, trying to recruit the talented point guard. But when University of North Carolina coach Dean Smith came knocking, something was different. Other coaches told Ford what position he would play and how he would fit into their system. Coach Smith didn’t immediately address those issues. (Lynchburg News & Advance)
