Deon Thompson gives Tar Heels spark in the middle

During the summer, North Carolina coach Roy Williams referred to Deon Thompson as a diamond in the rough. As it turns out, the diamond is more polished than anyone imagined. Thompson has become a major contributor for the UNC men's basketball team and is coming off a career-high 14 points in the Tar Heels' 92-64 victory over Arizona on Saturday. (Durham Herald-Sun)
