With those comments acting as a backdrop, an already-simmering duel between the Hawks and Gaels got kicked up a notch late Friday night with the former's 110-102....The loss ended Iona's 26-game home winning streak, Monmouth shot the lights out to the tune of 90 percent from 3-point range after halftime, and an otherwise terrific college basketball game was marred after Jordan Washington slapped Chris Brady across the face in the postgame handshake line.
