The start of something big for Thompson at Arizona


When UNC freshman learned Saturday that he would make his first career start, against No. 17 Arizona, his face split into a grin. He knew 15 members of his family had traveled from California to cheer him on, and "I wanted to play well in front of them." That he did, scoring a career-high 14 points in place of starter , who was sidelined by a stomach ailment. (Raleigh News & Observer)
