McKendree basketball coach just 1 victory away from college record
Posted Feb 4, 2016
McKendree University basketball coach Harry Statham received a hand-written note from Pat Summitt when he joined her in the 1,000-win club in 2009. He got a half-hour congratulatory call from Dean Smith in 2004 after passing the North Carolina great for men's coaching wins. None of it is going to his head, not after so many games (1,088-466 overall). ''It's gone quickly, it's really gone fast,'' Statham said.
