For all the venom that confronts UNC when it enters this building, Wednesday became a mostly contented experience. The seventh-ranked Tar Heels, who withstood a rocky beginning, ultimately found a calm and poise that drowned out NC State 80-68 in ACC basketball, dousing the energy that had PNC Arena pumped up early on.
