UNC misses chance to gain separation

Toughness is more than a physical characteristic. There's a mental component to it, as well, and third-ranked Virginia had more on both fronts in a 79-74 home win over seventh-ranked North Carolina on Saturday night. It is a big reason why UNC enters the final week of the regular season without sole possession of first place in the ACC.
