The Tar Heels are 51-10 as a No. 1 seed, 32-1 in NCAA Tournament games in the state of North Carolina and 12-0 vs. No. 16 seeds. Head coach Roy Williams moved into second place in all-time NCAA Tournament wins with victory No. 66. He passed Dean Smith, who won 65 at UNC. Brice Johnson set a UNC NCAA Tournament record with eight blocks.
