Lady Heels fend off Huskies to remain unbeaten

North Carolina survived an inspired second-half rally by Connecticut to hold off the Huskies 82-76 at Carmichael Auditorium last night. No. 2 North Carolina (20-0) lead by as many as 15 points in the second half but was not able to hold onto the lead during the final 12 minutes of the game. No. 6 Connecticut (14-2) fought back and took the lead three times in a three-minute stretch but didn't score a point in the final 2:10. (Winston-Salem Journal)
