Davis hires Shoop to run UNC offense
Posted Jan 13, 2007
After more than a decade in the NFL, John Shoop on Friday became North Carolina's offensive coordinator, saying, "I didn't think there was a better situation in the country than the one that presented itself here." Shoop, 37, is Davis' sixth assistant coaching hire, meaning all nine slots are filled for moment. However, Davis has not decided if he will retain Ken Browning, Marvin Sanders and Tommy Thigpen, all holdovers from former coach John Bunting's staff.
