Two players who failed to score in the first half, helped propel UNC to its first Final Four appearance since the Tar Heels won the NCAA title in 2009. Kennedy Meeks and Theo Pinson, who both went scoreless without taking a single shot in the first half, combined for 16 points after intermission as UNC defeated Notre Dame, 88-74, in the East Regional final Sunday.
