Old Chapel Hill Cemetery history goes deeper than graves

Out of the approximate 2,850 properties in North Carolina listed on the National Register of Historic Places, only 73 of them are cemeteries.The Old Chapel Hill Cemetery is one of them. “It is really unusual for cemeteries to be listed on the national register,” said Cheri Szcodronski, executive director of Preservation Chapel Hill.
