Lavonda Burnette said her love of Prince has shaped her life. On February 15, 1983, the then-12-year-old Burnette snuck to the front of Carmichael Arena — then “Carmichael Auditorium” — to watch Prince perform....The 1983 performance at Carmichael Arena was part of Prince’s “1999 Tour.” The Time and all-girl band Vanity 6 were the openers.
