Syracuse University replacing Carrier Dome’s inflatable roof

Syracuse University will replace the Carrier Dome's inflatable roof with a permanent structure as part of a plan to renovate the 36-year-old stadium. University officials announced Monday that it will cost an estimated $105 million to replace the dome's iconic "white pillows" with a roof built constructed with ETFE, a space-age transparent plastic that lets in light.
