Tar Heel men stun No. 1 Maryland in overtime to win lacrosse championship
Posted May 30, 2016
Chris Cloutier’s goal with 1 minute, 39 seconds left in overtime propelled unseeded North Carolina to a 14-13 win against No. 1 seed Maryland and the program’s first NCAA Division I men’s lacrosse championship since 1991. The Terps’ lack of success in NCAA title games is now 0-9 since the 1975 squad captured that championship.
