Thorpe Award watch list omission adds motivation for UNC’s Lawrence

If Des Lawrence was looking for motivation heading into the season, the preseason award watch lists are providing it for the UNC cornerback. Lawrence earned second-team All-ACC honors last season, was second in the ACC with 14 pass breakups and fourth with 16 passes defended. Yet he was mysteriously absent from the Bednarik Award and Jim Thorpe Award lists. (Wilmington Star News)
