‘Thunder from Down Under’ could kick-start UNC’s punting game

North Carolina’s 27-year-old freshman punter calls teammates “mates,” and he might kick-start one of the Tar Heels’ weaknesses. A year after UNC finished next-to-last in the ACC and 95th in FBS in net punting at 35.9 yards per punt, Tom Sheldon — otherwise known as the “Thunder from Down Under” — may provide some help.
