Ben Griffin Fifth After Day One At U.S. Amateur

University of North Carolina junior Ben Griffin shot 4-under-par 66 and is tied for fifth place after the first round of the 2016 United States Amateur Men’s Golf Championship at the Oakland Hills Country Club. Tar Heel teammate William Register, also a rising junior, overcame a slow start and finished his round with an even par 70.
