Slow-paced game leaves exciting plays scarce in North Carolina/Kentucky contest
Posted Dec 3, 2006
The most exciting thing about UNC's 75-63 win over Kentucky: Roy Williams earned his 499th coaching victory. That sort of sums up the Saturday afternoon matchup. Not flashy, not terribly interesting, but a big enough deal to earn national television coverage because college basketball's two best win-producers met in early December. There were no lead changes, 39 fouls, 31 turnovers – and a rather quiet Smith Center crowd, to boot.
