Minor league baseball returns to Kinston, coming to Fayetteville

When Minor League Baseball announced on Monday afternoon that this season will be the last for High Desert, currently the Texas Rangers’ high Class A affiliate, and Bakersfield, the Seattle Mariners’ affiliate in the California League, it paved the way for two new franchises in the Carolina League in Fayetteville and Kinston. Both North Carolina towns have working stadium agreements to add a team.
