History might not repeat for Tar Heels vs. Illini

The Illini have the talent to slow the Tar Heels’ rushing attack with defensive end Dawuane Smoot, who had eight sacks and 15 tackles for loss last season and tackle Chunky Clements, who added 11½ tackles for loss. Illinois also added graduate transfer linebacker Hardy Nickerson Jr., a likely NFL draft pick and whose father, Hardy, was a five-time Pro Bowl player. (Greensboro News & Record)
