Illini football players can't forget basketball's title loss to North Carolina in 2005

The mere mention of that team from Tobacco Road brings up bad memories of 2005 and an Illinois men’s basketball team that was derailed from destiny by the Tar Heels. Bruce Weber’s team fell to Roy Williams & Co. 75-70 in the national championship game. The Tar Heels come to town Saturday to face the Illini football team, and that 2005 loss still cuts deep for many.
