Davis deal worth about $1.72m annually

North Carolina released the details of Butch Davis' contract to serve as football coach today. Davis has a seven-year deal worth about $1.72 million annually. The deal includes a base salary of $286,000 per season plus $25,000 in an annual expense account. Learfield Communications ($250,000) and Nike ($150,000) will supplement his income.
