UNC, Bunting survive Duke
Posted Nov 26, 2006
John Bunting closed out his career as coach at North Carolina with a dramatic, bizarre 45-44 victory against Duke on Saturday afternoon in which a blocked extra-point attempt in the final three minutes provided the winning margin. But he was in no mood to linger. "Goodbye," Bunting said outside the locker room. "It has been swell. I'm gone." And with that, he walked away from reporters without answering questions. He did pause as he departed, however. "Unless," he added, "anybody has a big-money deal for a book."
