The link between two players from different hometowns — James Conner is an Erie native; Ryan Switzer is from Charleston, W.Va. — was forged through circumstance. The two first met at a college recruiting showcase at Gateway High School in April 2012. When the Tar Heels and Panthers played the following year, they exchanged contact information.
