Walt Weiss out as Colorado Rockies manager

Walt Weiss (UNC '85) will not return as manager of the Colorado Rockies, the club announced Monday. The Rockies termed Weiss' departure as a "resignation," although his three-year contract expired after this season. Weiss, 52, had a 283-365 record in four seasons as Colorado manager. The Rockies actually outperformed some expectations in 2016. (USA Today)
