Former App State player, UNC coach Everett Withers bringing Texas State to Boone

Texas State coach Everett Withers is attempting to rebuild a program that’s 2-5 heading into a weekend visit to ASU. Withers is in his 29th year of coaching, and three of them occurred alongside Mack Brown. After Brown left UNC to coach Texas in 1998, he hired Withers as a defensive backs coach. Fifteen years earlier, Withers had been one of Brown’s defensive backs.
