Tar Heels hire 'star' coach, Butch Davis

After nine years of bad and boring football, North Carolina needed a coach who was a star, not only on the sidelines but in recruits' living rooms. Tar Heels officials are convinced they found their guy Monday when it was announced that Butch Davis will take over the program at the end of the season. (Atlanta Journal-Constitution)
