LSU, Houston coach Tom Herman close to deal, sources say

LSU officials met with Houston coach Tom Herman in the Houston area Thursday, according to members of the Tiger Athletic Foundation - the fund raising arm of the LSU athletic department behind the school's search for a new coach. The contract in the works for Herman, 41, is for more than $6 million a year, according to the TAF members. He makes $3 million a year at Houston.
