UNC, Davis have deal: Three sources say he'll be Tar Heels' next football coach
Posted Nov 9, 2006
North Carolina and Butch Davis have reached an agreement that will bring him to Chapel Hill as the school's next football coach, three sources said yesterday. A contract agreement between the sides was unclear late last night. One source said a contract had been signed, but another said that a tentative agreement had been reached and Davis had not signed a contract. All of the sources said that school officials are working out the announcement of Davis' hiring.
