“I’m not going to go out and make my reservations for the Final Four,” Roy Williams told reporters on Wednesday night. “I don’t even know where the hell it is.” Williams might not be ready to admit it yet. His players know better than to strut around proclaiming it. But if North Carolina’s trip to the Maui Invitational confirmed anything, it’s that the Tar Heels still belong in the national title conversation.
