UNC football player beat the odds to reach the peak of success
Posted Oct 19, 2006
Kareen Taylor returns to his home state today, when UNC plays at Virginia. The game will be played at Scott Stadium in Charlottesville, Va., about 100 miles northwest of Hopewell. Taylor and his younger brother, Carl, lived with their mother during the early part of their childhood, but they never had a relationship with their father. It was commonplace for Kareen Taylor to cook dinner on the stove for himself and his brother, even when he was just a young child.
