It’s rare that a player with the talent of Daniel Bard simply loses it. Still “just” 31, Bard may have lost his prime, but a comeback of any kind would be a pleasant surprise for the once-promising right-hander. During a spring training period rife with noise but which provides little signal, he’s a story worth rooting for. After all, what’s spring for, if not new beginnings?
