Tar Heels use throwback effort

North Carolina got started in the ACC Tournament with a 78-53 blasting of Miami on Thursday, a quarterfinal rout that felt like a throwback in some respects. Joel Berry compared the defensive effort and focus put forth by the sixth-ranked Tar Heels here at the Barclays Center to the manner with which they cut a dominating path to the tournament final last season.
