Tar Heels hope links to past can predict future

A common thread connecting Roy Williams’ two NCAA championship teams at UNC is that neither of their postseason paths included an ACC Tournament title. The Tar Heels won it all in the 2005 and 2009 national tournaments after bowing out of the ACC’s semifinal round during each of those seasons, both times as the top seed in the league tournament.
