Hurricanes knock UNC back on its heels

North Carolina linebacker Larry Edwards switched the wording on his eye-black patches for Saturday's game at Miami. "Now" -- printed on his right cheekbone -- signified his hope that the Tar Heels finally would show the promise and progress they had predicted before this football season. But "Never" -- on his left -- may be the harsh reality after UNC's 27-7 loss to Miami at the Orange Bowl.
