Oregon Ducks' Dana Altman, Roy Williams of UNC renew rivalry from 1990s at Final Four

Dana Altman’s final season as an assistant coach at Kansas State in 1989 marked the arrival of Roy Williams at Kansas. When Altman returned to become head coach of the Wildcats two years later, Williams had turned the Jayhawks back into a national power after the NCAA put sanctions on the program at the end of Larry Brown’s tenure.
