Four-star point guard Lavar Batts commits to NC State

Lavar Batts is the first verbal commitment of the Kevin Keatts era at NC State. Batts, a senior at Concord (N.C.) Jay M Robinson, informed Scout of his decision Saturday morning. Batts and Keatts had a prior relationship, as Keatts offered him a scholarship when he was at UNC-Wilmington. That prior relationship allowed this recruitment to move quickly.
