The 77-year-old man sitting behind the UNC bench Monday night knew exactly what it meant to Roy Williams to beat Gonzaga and bring his third national championship to Chapel Hill. Buddy Baldwin was Roy Williams’ coach at T.C. Roberson High School in Asheville, N.C. Theirs is an amazing story of 50 years of friendship, mutual respect and loyalty.
