Davidson dealt North Carolina’s baseball team a season-ending defeat by winning 2-1 in Sunday’s NCAA regional final at Boshamer Stadium. The Tar Heels had the potential tying run thrown out at the plate when Brandon Riley was tagged trying to score on Zack Gahagan’s one-out single to right field. “Just to get that close, that’s hard to take,” UNC coach Mike Fox said.
