North Carolina has shown a knack under John Bunting for pulling off important home upsets when the Tar Heels need them the most. This might qualify: No. 16 Virginia Tech comes today to Chapel Hill to face a desperate North Carolina team that opened its season with a surprising loss. The Hokies are perfect in eight league road games since joining the ACC, but the Tar Heels say they're encouraged by the way they were competitive with Virginia Tech their past two meetings.
