Late in the first quarter last Saturday, the running back rumbled through the Rutgers secondary, bouncing off defenders as if they were tackling dummies and somehow staying upright on his way to a 48-yard gain. That play did more than set up the first score of the young season for the Tar Heels. It announced the birth of the new downhill-running offense and the rebirth of a finally healthy tailback who is ready for a breakout season.
