UNC, Duke football to meet earlier than usual in 2017
Posted Jul 16, 2017
Going all the way back to 1888 β the first time UNC and Duke, then known as Trinity College, met on the football field β the game has typically been played in November. That all changed in 2012, however, when UNC and Duke met in October for the first time since 1943. And this year, the Tar Heels and Blue Devils will face off in September for the first time ever.
