ACC's Ron Cherry moves from "giving him the business" to new officiating role

Ron Cherry is moving into a different realm of the officiating "business." Cherry, the ACC football referee who famously described a personal foul on N.C. State offensive lineman Kalani Heppe in 2007 as a penalty for "giving him the business,” has retired from on-field officiating. ACC commissioner said Wednesday that Cherry will move into an advisory position. (Winston-Salem Journal)
